Tonight, while driving home from my girlfriend’s house, I decided to turn on my frequency scanner to listen in on what might be happening around Pierce County. For the most part there was silence, nothing big going on for a Wednesday night, until a call of a car accident on Day Island, less than 5 minutes away from my house. I decided to check it out considering I didn’t have much else to do.
As soon as I pulled up, I saw that the car was burning in the front, flames at least 5 feet high. But the car was not just out in the open, it was front first into a house just over the bridge. This definitely sparked my interest and I turned right around to drive home so I could grab my camera and drive back out. I ended up staying at the accident scene for quite a while and took photographs, spoke with a gentleman named Tim who lives in the house, a University Place Sheriff’s Deputy and also spoke with Rick Price of KIRO 7 TV News and his videographer.
Long story short, the driver ran from the scene and was captured a short while later. A second passenger was rushed off to the hospital for internal bleeding (as far as I heard). And a third passenger was left at the scene speaking with University Place Sheriff’s Deputies. The fire was extinguished before I was able to return to take photographs, but I ended up with a few good shots of the action.
KIRO TV Channel 7 will most likely air today, Thursday the 9th of April, a story about the crash. And as soon as I edit this, it shows up.
One Injured After Car Crashes Into House Then Catches Fire
A little bird has been living in one of the bird holes above the front door of my house. Unfortunately for the bird, the holes are in the process of being covered with new vents that outside of the holes. There are more holes being drilled into spots that previously had none and everything is being covered for consistency. It was pretty cool to come home and see it every night.
